Dr. Matt Leara, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Matt Leara was raised in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri and graduated valedictorian of his high school class. He graduated veterinary school from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine. He immediately moved to Denver, Colorado and worked at a large, 10 doctor small animal practice for the next 6 years.
It was at this job that he met his future wife, and together they gained invaluable experience developing their medical and surgical skills. They helped the practice become a Veterinary Economics Hospital of the Year award winner. In 2004, they moved to San Diego, California, and were happy to be a part of another Veterinary Hospital of the Year award winner. After 5 1/2 years in San Diego, they had the opportunity to follow their dream and purchase a practice. They look forward to building Animal Clinic of Honolulu into a premier hospital that exceeds the standards of care for your four legged family members. In his spare time, Dr. Leara enjoys watching and playing sports, especially baseball, golf, football, and basketball. He enjoys hiking, camping, water sports, and many other outdoor activities.
